This is very generalized as to not expose my personal information and history however detailed enough to share my professional experience. I began My experience in July 2024 after experiencing some life changing events. I began My Process with Antonia “Toni” Ferro. The challenges in scheduling with this provider was beyond mind boggling and the first red flag. On second experience she accused me of not coming to appointment when I was in the waiting room “Telehealth” early for over 20 min. Then after proving I was there with screenshots she agreed there was a glitch but blamed spotty internet on my end. There was none. Then I wanted a later in the day appointment not midday, that was accommodated and was set to be regular. On next appointment she changed time without asking. When declining she said we never agreed to this time I never saw you at 4.pm it’s always been 2pm. I again had to prove screenshots we definitely met at 4pm. She then began to make me think I was crazy game, gaslighting. I still remained hopeful, then she cancelled 9 min into my unscheduled time stating an emergency came up. When first meeting with her she shared this was for me and there was no ego in her therapy if we weren’t a fit. Obviously she has to say this on first introduction because there is absolutely ego in her personality. She then declined to see me every other week because she doesn’t allow that. Sadly, some peoples insurance will only allow that. Then when she insisted on changing my medication with a separate provider and I declined to allow her to speak to my provider in regards to my medication only my past she advised she couldn’t see me further as she needed to convey her beliefs on my medication. She even advised she is not a DR.; however felt the need to have dialog with provider on my medication. It was her advice to seek one medication then two weeks later call it a bandaid. HUH? She billed the insurance dishonestly for sessions never performed. When meeting with the owner she agreed and researched my situation and validated me by calling and saying yes, she did discover these happenings and I was not crazy they did happen. She was fixing the billing herself. Since speaking with the owner of the practice I have a referral outside of her practice for further care.

I’m very disappointed with Toni’s practices, ethics and behavior. This is a teaching practice so the providers are not experienced and getting hours of practice time, only school. It was informed to me that this provider actually did not fall under that category, even more disappointing if she has experience for the years advised. Sadly it was a bad experience and I feel more traumatized then when I began. It’s a gamble you’re taking with your emotions and mental health. The goal was to seek therapy to improve my health not be emotionally abused and my morals questioned by being accused of lying. It was an interpersonal one for growth.

I’ve seen several clinicians (for different reasons) at Ventura Therapy Collective. I really enjoyed each of their different styles, professionalism, and therapeutic techniques. The offices are very nice, cozy, and comfortable for in person sessions, but it is nice to have Telehealth options as well if needed. I would recommend them to anyone looking to start therapy.

Discovering this therapy practice in 2021 has truly been transformative for me. Facing personal challenges, I found a supportive community where trust and understanding are paramount. The values and energy of this collective have equipped me with mental tools to navigate triggers and traumas. Sessions are flexible, focusing on what matters most to me, and their gentle approach is exactly what I needed. They are easy to reach via email to start in-person sessions, and their telehealth options make it convenient to schedule sessions online. I highly recommend giving them a try!
