My initial intake was daunting. The therapist was 10 min late. She had just walked in the front door with her back pack. Told me I went to the wrong waiting room. I’m a 57 yr old adult so why would I go to the children’s suite? She acted like it was my fault and didn’t take any onus. I’m a larger person and she had only children sized furniture to sit in. It wasn’t going well thus far. During the intake, she made no eye contact. Only when I was in tears did she. She also told she’s not a sunshine/rainbow type of therepist. That’s she’s going to tell me things I won’t like. As an early childhood educator, I would not recommend this therapist to anyone, especially children. I left the session in tears. I felt worse than before I came in.
This is not to say the practice or other clinicians aren’t good! This is probably a great place, they hired a dud in my opinion. This young brash inexperienced therepist was more harm than good!
If I owned a therepy practice, I surely wouldn’t want her as part of my professional team. But go ahead and make an appointment. I hope you get a better, honest, nice qualified person to help you than I did.
