If you truly want to learn how to handle a firearm , which includes shooting and safety, this is bar none the best place to learn and the best staff to learn from. I have been shooing with Dave and his team for a few years and have never been disappointed even if I was scolded because I deserved it. End result is this TACFIRE team will make sure you are provided the knowledge and tools you will need when handling your firearm and I thank them all for that.

First time here at Tacfire and I was thoroughly impressed. It was only a CCW renewal course for me and the info provided was very relevant and up to date. The shooting portion of the day was fun and if you qualified you moved over with the group to shoot steel. We had a huge group of at least 20+ shooters. The instructors handled the volume of shooters well and made sure safety was of utmost importance. The instructors were knowledgeable and actually taught and didn’t demean folks for not shooting like pros. Been to some of those courses. Overall a great experience and I will be back for other courses.

Instructors Dave and Steve ran a phenomenal course for the week. They kept all students engaged be it firing, coaching, or performing RSO functions. Never were we idle for any extended period nor subject to lengthy talk which can drone on endlessly. They made clear the drill/course of fire, on the line and get training. This was an instructors course and I believe very valuable for anyone wishing to pass on knowledge be it as an instructor or just a good well rounded RSO. Hope to see these guys in a future class.

My wife and I did our CCW training with Dave and Hank, they were both excellent instructors, very informative and put safety first. The way they run the class is very professional and they explain everything in detail, the class room and range are clean and organized. I recently participated in P.O.S.T. Handgun Instructor course, taught by Dave Manning and Steve Odom. Our group of instructor candidates had very unique needs, and TacFire came up with a perfect solution to plan, structure, and guide us through, not only the course material, but also to navigate through administrative blocks between different agencies.

As far as day to day experience goes, curriculum was logically designed to take us through, step-by-step, in fortifying out knowledge and skills, as well as inviting us to revisit our fundamentals and honestly reassess.

Each day started with thorough briefing of safety and emergency plans - specific tasks were assigned with redundancy in mind. Each component was challenged thoroughly, with what-ifs, and realistic feasibility. Everyone had a chance to talk during daily debriefing, sharing their thoughts from the perspective of a Shooter, a Coach, and a Future Instructor.

As this was an instructor level course, not only did we go through the experience of picking at our own skills as individual shooters and making improvements, each one of us also had an opportunity to plan, design, and implement our own mini class. Receiving peer review by fellow instructor candidates, as well as guidance and feedback from Dave and Steve gave each one of us an indispensable experience and insights to take with us for our own development.
