I had a wonderful experience doing my jury duty here. I was treated with respect and kindness by both the security guards and the people who work in the jury division. Lucy really stood out as an example of a wonderful person and helped me when I was having a problem with bringing items into the courthouse that weren't on the prohibited items list.

The facilities in the jury assembly area were incredible. Multiple flat screen TV's, tables, cubicles, and a quiet room with leather sofas and coffee tables. It honestly reminded me of a university library.

And they were so respectful of our time and incredibly efficient. Every evening, you just texted to see if you were required to come in in-person. Finally, on Thursday of my week, I was. It wasn't a big deal, though, because they had us out of there by just after noon. You could really tell they were trying to make our experience as pleasant as possible and use up as little of our time as possible. I would welcome the opportunity to come back here as a juror.

Thank you to the security personnel and jury personnel who made it a great experience for me.

Simply put, it's like the DMV, only worse.

Reported to Jury Duty on a Monday. Reported in the morning with many others. Check-in kiosks worked for us in the beginning but I noticed later they weren't working. Some vending machines worked. The woman in charge of calling out the names made no effort to pronounce people's names properly and thought it was just delightfully amusing. In other words, she was in full IDGAF mode. Of course, I don't blame her. What a miserable place to work. She has to find humor somewhere, even if it's at the expense of others.

Due to a trial which was going to go for a few weeks, it explained why so many people were summoned. In fact, a whole group of people were coming in at noon to be added to the jury pool from the morning.

The jury pool room was crowded and hot. The instructions were not clear and confusing (which courtroom did you say? You said one number in one sentence and then another number in another sentence).

A true cluster F, but expected.

I'm a firm believer in Rule of Law and the justice system. However, the court system runs like every other government agency...inefficient. (ever see the movie 'Brazil'?)

Regardless, I checked my attitude at the door and showed as much respect to the folks in the courthouse, and most importantly, the judge. Remember, "Your Honor" is the judge's name. Don't be a wise guy and try something different. Court is serious and they don't mess around. You're not going to get away with giving attitude to a court staffer like you would give attitude to a fast food worker.

Anyway, I know it can be a different experience for everyone. My wife reported to Jury Duty here last year and she did not have as horrible as an experience as I did.

Hoping others will have a better experience than I did. And hoping my next time won't be so bad.

Tips: Don't park in the back of the building. There's public/jury parking in front of the main entrance. Free parking so you don't have to sweat it.

Bring something to eat and drink. The vending machines are not reliable.

Get ready to be bored and frustrated.

Like the judge who came down to greet the prospective jurors said, as U.S. citizens, we're not required to serve in the military. And we're not required to vote. But serving as a juror is the one requirement of all citizens as laid out in the Constitution.

Something to keep in mind while you're sitting there...

Staff and jury process were great. Caitlyn was awesome. However, charging jurors $5.00 for a generic bottle of water is criminal in itself. This is not Disneyland. Shame on the condition of the kitchen.

Worst service ever. The court system is never there to help you so avoid any stinking tickets . They are all for just making money for themselves . And on top of that they are understaffed and you will never get anything resolved quickly as I would expect . The facilities are amazing but that's because we are all paying for them and these people will never care about you! I would give them minus 100 stars if I could. Really the people of California vs you is not the case. It is the crooked court system against you. That said YOU WILL LOSE IF YOU WANT TO REPRESENT YOURSELF 99.9 PERCENT OF THE TIME. Besides they pay so low to the people who work for them that is not even funny.

I'm a very mature, respectful and respected person, college graduate, critical thinker, and before this time I appeared in this court, felt most police officers and most judges had a degree of integrity, but after appearing in court as a direct witness, I was knocked down a peg or two on these beliefs. Now, it may not seem like a big deal, this being a traffic issue, but the fact that this happened on this level, I have absolutely lost respect for this court, and especially the Hemet Police. I'll keep this short. We went to trial on a traffic ticket. The officer got up and spoke first. He said he was traveling north, and had to slam on his brakes to avoid hitting us as we failed to yield to turn left as we were heading south at a light. HE FLAT OUT, UNEQUIVOCALLY LIED!!!! It took my breath away!!! We were literally second in line to turn left, the car in front of us pulled out, waited on the officers, then turned. We pulled out, waited as well, and then I said " they are not moving. I guess turn?" And they pulled us over! I'm just shocked and disheartened that a police officer would blatantly lie. If they lie about this little thing, they definitely lie about bigger things. I am forever changed over this. I really am. And the Comisioner who saw the case was belittling and felt she needed to over explain things to us as of we were children. I'm just absolutely stunned, and I wasnt even the person with the ticket!
