I love this place, it is quite beautiful, and quiet. The sound of the fountain is soothing, and the birds are wonderful. Wild geese fly over, honking, stopping to browse in the field that was once a pear orchard. I saw wild turkeys yesterday. I hear the frogs singing at night. Last summer, I could see the birds in the field, hunting. I saw owls, hawks, and herons. The view of the sky is wonderful, stars at night, the moonrise and sunrise and sunsets are calming and give one a sense of joy of living which is easily lost when you have nothing to look forward to. I spent a lot of time here in 2018, putting in job applications in the job link computer lab, until the friends whose home I was staying at, had to move, and I had to start living in my car. So I joined the others who were living in their vehicles, parked around challenger way, and gradually accepted that I will never be able to get hired again because I am 70 years old. I am now crippled from sleeping sitting up for over a year in my car. My spine is collapsing. Last year in September, the business community (who did not build housing for the low income wage earners and the elderly and disabled, that make up the largest of the population of the homeless), pressured the police to drive us away, somewhere out of the city limits, out of view of the good people of the community. I spent a lot of time parking in the park, where there is a dog park for my two little dogs, and a porta potty. But it is closed now.I also parked in the parking lot of the food maxx, because it's very large, well lit, and I spent all the money I have there, for food and necessities. I have to be very careful to not run out of gas because then my car will be towed away and I will have to try to live outside, I will die then. I was told by the police to come back here now, that it is ok while the shelter in place is in effect, to park here again, after the store manager at food maxx said I can't go there anymore. I was rude to him, when he told me I couldnt live in the store parking lot I said I have nowhere else to go. There is even a nice porta potty here. But still no dumpster. I always take my trash back to where I bought it from, it is all container packaging from the grocery store. When it stops raining, I will get out and pick up all the cigarette butts people have left. I can't wait to be able to use the computer lab again, to work on online classes, and practice my typing skills. I was at 50 wpm once. But they won't be open for another month.

I get it I know that this is a state government office and things get held up and they get behind and the fact that their government office an we all know that in itself means it's going to take forever but I applied for emergency food stamps in November I was told in the beginning of January I was approved however not a single cent has been put on this EBT card that I have in my hand....I mean seriously they say you can get emergency EBT in three days this is been like 3 months seriously what's up with this!? So today I'm going to spend time trying to figure out who on the city council/government office I need to call to make things happen cuz when I call the EBT office I am told I have to wait for somebody to enter my information into the computer program and that could take x amount of time they're not sure exactly how long that will take or when this as I said earlier is RIDICULOUS!!

I feel that the training and other programs offered are inadequate, that they operate on favoritism, and that much is withheld and/or not offered. There is room for major improvement/and commitment.
