Christy is really Awesome! I have always been apprehensive about going to therapy, it has
always been so hard for me to be vulnerable. Therapy with her was always in a warm and nurturing environment, so it was easier to feel comfortable with her. Christy is one of the most well researched and intelligent therapists in Sonoma County. And was very effective with me by sharing and using her research based approach to help my individual problems and needs. She is so knowledgeable about the most successful methods of Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques for PTSD and anxiety. I have seen a few therapists in my life, but I have not made as much progress with any of them as I have with Christy. Also I would describe her as being very intuitive, which can be helpful if you have a problem with expressing yourself or don't have the words to describe what you are going through. With the progress that I made with her I was able to move my life forward in a way that I never thought I was able to. I seriously recommend Christy, connection in therapy is definitely important for the best possible results and to feel more at ease. And she made it possible for me to connect with her because of her compassionate personality, that was also equally met by her constructive clarity and advice. Sometimes you just need one person in your corner to help get you through a difficult time, for me that was her.

Christy Shea has changed my life in the best of ways. She is so kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, and she makes you feel safe when you are in her sessions. I am very sensitive and she speaks to all of my insecurities so that I don't feel offended when she offers advice.

I struggled with two different phobias for almost all of my life, and I wanted to address them before having children. She utilized EMDR and another method (I forget the name) to help me figure out the cause of these phobias, and she gave me tools to address my fears in a reasonable way.

Now my husband and I see her for marriage counseling. We see Christy so that we can take care of and safe-guard our marriage. She understands both of our personalities, helps us communicate better, and again, gives us both practical tools so that we can better understand where the other is coming from. Therapy with Christy is so worth the investment!
