We found that the Chamber presented opportunities for us to learn ways to improve our business, and it was done in a subtle way, by writing articles about small business subjects that could help us, or by having speakers at the meetings on topics that would help us save money or improve business.
The mixers, while fun, provided opportunities for us to not just socialize and make friends, but to meet other business owners who were in the same ‘boat’ as we were. It makes it easier to pick up the phone and ask another business owner for their advice or opinion with whom you have shared a drink or bite to eat at a mixer.
