If you can use Google, you can do better than most of the people who work here at helping yourself. Their "resources" are just huge lists of websites you have to filter through and half of them are inaccessible, over 30 miles away, or don't apply to your child's needs. And once you contact a resource, they refer you back to the regional center, resulting in an endless cycle of frustration. They spend all their money on fancy offices and useless PowerPoint presentation "conferences", none of which actually help families in need. Their favorite thing to say (IF they respond to you at all) is "unfortunately the Regional Center does not provide that service at this time." Also, get ready to have your service coordinator change every month or so. They can't even keep people working for them, and I can tell why. In our several years as clients, they haven't helped us in any way and if a doctor, therapist, or school refers us to them, I don't even bother.

I am a parent of an autistic child. I moved from San Diego to Santee in April 2019. Unfortunately, that meant that I was switched from San Diego regional center to Santee regional center. I have gotten zero services from Regional Center since the move. I have dozens of emails that I have sent to our case manager that went unanswered. I have made multiple phone calls. Not even respite in over 2.5 years. When I asked for another case manager, his case manager - Angela - started to answer my emails (she never returned phone calls) for a few weeks and then she ghosted me again. I understand (somewhat) the treatment during the pandemic, but it started in the first half of 2019 - well before the pandemic. Having a special needs child is bad enough. Having such a terrible service provider that completely ignores their clients is unacceptable. I am researching how to make a formal complaint with the state when I have time. The problem is that I don't have time. I have to work full time to support us and I have to deal with the tantrums, fixing the walls, cleaning up the messes, and other destructive behaviors with zero support when I am not at work. So they get away with completely ignoring their clients. I don't understand how this agency is still open. They should close it and expand the San Diego office to cover East County. At least I received help from the San Diego office. If I could give this place negative stars, I would.

My sister has called and called for months trying to get an appointment for my nephew and they aren't answering or returning any messages left. Where do they spend their money if they aren't helping those that need it.
