Her class prices are incredibly affordable and the studio has plenty of parking. She is generous with her time and passion for the art of Flamenco. Ole!

Rosal Ortega combines patience and kindness with discipline that pushes me to work harder. As a beginning dancer, I am not only learning how to move my body properly, but also how to develop the habits of a dancer. Rosal excels at teaching me both. All the while, she makes the learning enjoyable and productive. And each week, I see progress in my ability to dance Flamenco.
Rosal also teaches us about the culture and development of Flamenco, which adds so much to the work.
I highly recommend Rosal's classes. She brings out the best in her students, who are supportive of each other. In class, we work, we learn, and we dance!

I have been taking flamenco classes with Rosal since September 2023. She has offered her classes from a variety of different studios that she leases. One studio has been the Cruz Dance studio. Cruz rents her studio out in addition to providing their own lessons.

Rosal is an incredible flamenco instructor who is not only extremely talented in the art of flamenco dance, but she is a gifted teacher. She is supportive and uplifting. She is constantly empowering us all to believe in ourselves, set goals and work hard to achieve them. She is more than just a flamenco teacher. She is always advocating for us to be healthy, drink water, eat good foods, get good sleep, take care of ourselves, and keep a positive mindset where we don't sell ourselves short. At any age or body size or whether we have injuries or disabilities, she reminds us how much growth is possible if we stay disciplined and don't give up. She constantly pushes us to be better with her fun but challenging choreography. She is organized and thoughtful in her approach to the structure of the classes - with a balance of introducing new choreography, reviewing what we've learned, and focusing on the nuances of technique, posture, stance. She also teaches us about the culture and history of flamenco. Her choreography and training incorporates many different styles of flamenco and with each style, she will educate us on where it came from along with some culture and history of that area.

She recently started teaching flamenco in Santa Barbara and I am so stoked and blessed to have found her. I feel healthier and stronger training with her and I have a new wonderful supportive community that fills me with inspiration, confidence, and joy. No matter where you are in your dance studies, Rosal will make you feel welcome and can work with absolute beginners of any age to more advanced dancers who have years of flamenco experience.

Santa Barbara needs more flamenco offerings for adult women (and men!) as so many studios have a focus on kids and youth. Thankfully, Rosal is here so all you older women/men that are out there, you will not regret calling Rosal to learn more. She has very reasonable $ rates. We are lucky to have her as a teacher given she started flamenco training in Spain at the age of 14 and never stopped. Flamenco is her life and she is still training with her own instructors and performing on a regular basis. She is dialed into the flamenco community in Los Angeles. She is everything flamenco embodies - passionate, strong, confident, beautiful, loving, fun! Given that flamenco is a storytelling of sorts through dance that has a wide range of emotions based on life experiences, older women and men have so much more complex rich emotions to pull from, it's one of the reasons I love flamenco. In its origins, it is intergenerational, all genders, all body sizes, so much diversity and acceptance of whoever you are wherever you are in your life. Rosal 💯 emanates this. She has definitely changed the trajectory of my life as flamenco gives me so much fulfillment and meaning especially at this time in my life with all the transitions I have been through and am still going through. I am so grateful for her offerings no matter where they are taught!! ❤️💫💃
