Most of the five star reviews here are from 7 or so years ago. My review is from 2022. Dr Abbott insulted, lectured, and raised his voice slightly to me during our fourth session. He called me a "know it all" because I told him that I had an eating disorder nearly 20 years ago that was not a current issue that I'm dealing with. He then condescendingly lectured me about how he has been studying eating disorders since before I was born, and that he knows more about them than I do. I was shocked and felt unsafe by his suddenly hostile tone. I tried to voice my feelings of how I felt attacked, and he was flippant and dismissive. Instead of talking it through with me he went on for about 5 minutes talking about how much his fee is and how I am responsible for paying what insurance doesn't cover. I think at one point he was a good therapist, but not anymore. He lacks basic manners and is definitely not worth $150 an hour. Do NOT seek treatment from this man.

So here we have a guy who is very understanding and relate to tons of experiences and gives tons of great advice! He even has stories of his own that are just amazing and that shows you he's not a textbook kind of guy. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs a therapist.
