I have used Reza multiple times. As a general contractor he has come to the rescue on many projects where I needed a forensic engineer someone to determine what is going on with a problem in a house and come up with a solution and he has done that every time.

Portiva demanded a $500 deposit prior to giving any estimate which is not industry standard. They completely mislead us from the beginning on cost saying how simple this project would be and how quickly they could provide us with a beam calculation and plan to remove a wall in our home. We trusted Reza was being honest and that he would not take advantage of us which is why we gave him a deposit. He didn’t provide a receipt or any documentation upon deposit which we found odd but again we trusted based on our conversations that this was no big deal and he was going to take care of us. I had all the structural plans and calculations for our home which I provided to him including CAD files. Basically all the information he would need to provide us with the required beam sizing. I was lead to believe that Reza was a structural engineer which I later found out Reza misrepresented this, he is not a structural engineer, just a PE. He later gave me a estimate of more than double what we were quoted elsewhere, when we asked for our deposit back siting his misrepresentation of his license as well as his estimate being much higher that anticipated he refused to return our money. It was never disclosed that the deposit would be non-refundable, and they have since been unresponsive. I would not recommend doing business with this company
