Probably the only truly “classical Pilates studio” in Santa Clarita.

Ever since I moved to SCV from NYC, I desperately looking for a classic pilates studio. My standard was way high since I’m from the home of Pilates with best instructors, and no place in SCV satisfied me until I met Melissa in Movement of Pilates.

She knows exactly what do you need, very good understanding of body, great knowledge of Pilates(of Joseph Pilates) of course. Her group class is small enough as 4, she doesn’t miss anyone’s any movement so you always feel like private lesson. Her lesson is personalized even in the group lesson depends on each individual’s mobility and injuries so I always felt SO good after class.

I’ve been here one to two classes per week for slightly over a year now. I have been doing Pilates about 14+ years in many places and Movement of Pilates is one of my top pilates experience.
Highly highly recommended!

(Besides Melissa is very funny! Trust me, that’s REALLY important when your abs and glutes hurts from the exercise haha)

I am writing to recommend Melissa, the Pilates instructor at Movement of Pilates. I was referred to Melissa by a friend and she has been one of the best referrals I have ever gotten.

Melissa is a fantastic teacher for people everyone especially people with challenges. She is patient, understanding, and accommodating. She takes the time to get to know each student's individual needs and abilities, and she tailors her instruction accordingly.

Pilates has been the most effective treatment/help for my mom, and Melissa has been a big part of that. She has helped mom to learn how to move my body in a way that is pain-free and supportive. She has also helped me to build strength and flexibility, which has improved my overall health and well-being.

Melissa is always positive and encouraging, and she makes me feel like I can do anything. She is a true asset to the Pilates community, and I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a Pilates instructor who is knowledgeable, experienced, and compassionate.

I have had the pleasure of taking Pilates with Tina for over a year. She’s not only helped me develop a love for Pilates but she helped me during the most difficult time of my life. In January I lost my husband of 54 years, Tina was so kind and thoughtful with her words. Her Pilates techniques helped me through my grief and gave me tools to rebuild my emotions. No matter how I feel when I walk into Tina’s Pilates class I feel complete and I always leave centered and fulfilled.
Thank you - Tina! Gilda Ashe

Movement Of Pilates is one of the few businesses that I can 100% vouch for. I discovered the business on the Scoliopilates website. The owner of Movement of Pilates (Melissa) was part of a handful of people trained in scolio Pilates. I've never done Pilates in my life and did not even know what a reformer was, but I knew I had to find some sort of exercise place that was knowledgeable of the skeleton and the variety of needs. I want to step aside for a second and note that at the time I started in 2019 her business had recently expanded, and exploded over the next few years. My first time I had a private lesson and learned all about the skeleton, the reformer, ways I should be holding my body in general and of course exercises. After that hour, I left so educated and aware of the dos and don'ts of the body, especially scoliosis, that I thought I learned what I needed to know, and I would go on with life, do my own exercises. Well, it only took me a few days to realize that after that one hour session I was already addicted and I needed more. I did private classes until Covid and then the studio kept alive during Covid by doing virtual classes and some driveway classes. During the virtual classes, I learned how there are so many different ways to do an exercise depending on your body's needs. Once everything reopened after Covid I joined a group classes and have never turned back. I really wish I could go every single day! I don't think I have had back issues since I started Pilates. I love my group classes, everybody is so nice and there are bodies of every type. Big and small, tall and short, and every age bracket. There are all kinds of classes, sculpting, balance, scolio, general reformer, etc. They also have every piece of equipment. You can imagine a Pilates studio and have there are even things I've never heard of until I got there. Melissa and every instructor at Movement of Pilates directs you as how to modify if you are having difficulty or just have a general health issue that requires a change. She now has a team of talented instructors, some of which are also trained in scolio Pilates. And guess who the instructor is for that? Melissa is always continuing her education in Pilates and Scolio Pilates and has been asked many times to teach not allowed her studio, but at others. Go, try it yourself I could write on forever, but I highly recommend this business (PS my disabled husband went for a few years, and it really made a difference in his life). PS I would add pictures but I'm too busy working out.
