I NEVER write Google reviews, but I feel compelled to warn you all. If possible, I strongly recommend avoiding care here. The issue lies with the front desk staff who are unprofessional and run the entire place. A typical visit involves being bullied for breathing, being yelled at for no apparent reason—followed by unsolicited and inappropriate medical advice only a doctor could give. They often tell patients how much or how little medication to take. Staff members have a habit of treating patients like drug addicts, which is not only degrading but completely discriminatory. Most Kaiser patients I’ve spoken to share a sense of dread and fear about visiting this location due to the bullying. In my opinion, this place is a liability waiting to happen.

Wish I saw the reviews before giving Kaiser Mental Health a shot. Worst mental health department I've ever experienced dealing with

Incredibly difficult to get into contact with, they don't allow you to schedule random phone screenings - so if you miss it, tough. And worst of all, they rely on outdated manuals with incorrect information as an excuse to refuse medication for those who need help

Kaiser is not equipped to help patients with mental health issues. The staff are enragingly unhelpful, and prefer to deny evidence of a diagnosis. I'm switching out of Kaiser's health plan next year, never again

This place saved my wife's life when she was suffering from severe trauma induced sleep deprivation. I can't imagine what it's like working at a place like this, in which the staff is constantly confronted with problems that do not have a clear solution while having to deal with unstable people and often angry family members. Only complaint was the ridiculous COVID restrictions they placed which prevented my wife from having any contact with anyone in the facility for 4 days straight, but that wasn't really their fault.

I spoke to Susanna Chan for an intake assessment. She was rude, condescending, and kept cutting me off and saying if I wanted to talk that much I’d have to wait for a therapist. She reminded me several times if I kept answering beyond yes or no I would have to call back and wait several days to speak to someone. She called me while at work and I asked if she could call back another time and she said no this would be quick but then proceeded to extend the conversation once I said I could go. She completely lacked customer service and the experience was very dehumanizing.

Kaiser is horrible with mental health. They don't care. They try to push you out as soon as possible with your temporary therapist. Medi Cal provided much better care than Kaiser, and I pay for Kaiser! I have been trying to maintain secure individual therapy and they make you wait for 4 months, and then tell you they will call you back on a certain date, and don't. It is awful!

I have been trying to help for depression and anxiety after losing my dad and mother in law. The behavioral health department has some great people and some some people who are anything but helpful. MG is one of the bright stars that is awesomely helpful and kind. You can tell it is his default setting and not something he needed to be taught. This review is to say thank you to him.

Challenging. I had to reschedule an appointment due to a family emergency, which resulted in them cancelling my appointment, and then multiple phone calls with long hold times to reschedule. Once I got to someone who could reschedule, she spent 30 minutes berating me that my chart didn’t make sense and asking me to explain why they scheduled an appointment in the first place. She was very condescending and patronising, I would highly discourage using KP’s mental health services.

Kaiser is only a good idea if you are a patient getting free medical care because it is a better option that Valley Medical (the county hospital) , but is not much better. But for people who pay for insurance, it is a terrible option because you wont get the care you pay for at all.
