Jason E Esswein is a miracle worker; truly a diamond in the rough of even the best therapists. He has aligned his work as a therapist to a T with the person he authentically lives as as a person, and I would rate him more than five stars if it were possible to. Jason provides trustworthy, strong ethics, sacred respect, matchless integrity, psycho-spiritual-emotional power, wisdom, and intelligence that falls well beyond the range of my regular run of the mill conception of a therapist, as well as a very human side of his; his humor, which he balances respectfully with these sacred parts; he is more than most therapists, holding emotions AS WELL AS spirituality for men and women who need it, tracking his clients excellently and reliably, and he has also helped me through his appropriate usage of self-disclosures, wise and sound advice and knowledge, willingness to trust the process as it unfolds, and through the space of silence he has held when I have most needed it to be held in respect and safety as I have worked through my issues. Jason is curious about his clients and remembers the important details about them. I am blessed to have chanced upon such a selfless, experienced, incredibly compassionate, wise, therapist and human being. I would say Jason is as great as therapists come; from intensive marathon sessions, to trust, to healing, to availability; a one of a kind, intelligent counselor, whom the right clients won't be able to help but view as a god send; I know I sure have!

Jason Esswein, LMFT, has a very powerful intuitive ability and a keen emotional intelligence that allows him to see straight into any situation and beyond. He offers sound and relevant guidance, and is both down-to-earth and humble while at the same time deeply spiritual and so passionate about his work as a therapist. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I am honored to refer to him, as I know any client will be served well, having found themselves in excellent and competent hands with Jason. His approach is nuanced, depth-oriented, and provocative. His professionalism is grounded in humility, so you get the sense that he has weathered his own storms, only to come out stronger in the end. It is because of these qualities that he is able to connect with clients on a deep, client-centered, and spiritual level, resonating with those who are ready to do the real work of therapy. I have known Jason for more than three decades, and he has always inspired me. He has so much integrity, and as I have said before and will say again, it is an honor to recommend him.

Simply stated, Jason is a miracle worker.

After suffering with PTSD the majority of my life and enduring numerous sessions with "qualified" MFTs, PhDs, and EMDR trained therapists, costing me $$$$$ out of pocket (with insurance), I was more depressed and isolated than when I first began seeking help. The thought of recounting my trauma again in an attempt to find a therapist that could help me shift out of the darkness I had become all too familiar with, made me want to give up on therapy completely.

After ONE session of EMDR with Jason, I shifted out of the darkest depths of fear and anxiety that had crippled me for many years. Jason's ability to create a safe environment while fostering trust and open communication organically encouraged me to drop my guard (in my case - suit of armor) and feel safe enough to trust that my quality of life could improve. After the second session of EMDR with Jason, I started believing that I was not beyond help.

Let me be clear, 2 sessions of EMDR with Jason did not "fix" me. PTSD can be a lifelong condition, however, after years of agoraphobia and berating self-talk, after working with Jason, I felt more comfortable in my own skin than I had in over a decade.

Jason is by far the most gifted healer that I have ever worked with in my 54 years of life. His approach to healing is tailormade - not the one size fits all approach that you experience with the majority of therapists.

Together, we developed a recovery plan that was gentle enough to be achievable, but assertive enough to see results - when I was dedicated to the process and did the work. After our sessions, I reflected on how quickly he was able to shift me into a feeling of self-empowerment and hope.

His no-pressure approach to scheduling follow-up sessions is refreshing. At no point did he base my ability to make strides in my recovery on a 3 session per week schedule, nor did he spend the first 5 sessions asking me about my childhood before diving into the deep stuff. The pace in which we moved through the session was purely based on my level of comfort and his professional assessment of my state of mind.

So, if like me, you have lost hope in the therapy community and you are ready to heal past/current issues by partnering with someone who is as invested in your healing as you are - schedule a session with Jason. He is truly the most gifted therapist I have ever worked with.
