Melinda helped my wife and me tremendously, and we can’t recommend her enough. After lukewarm experiences with a few other couple’s therapists, meeting with Melinda was a game-changer. She was able to read between the lines in an impressive way, allowing us to communicate feelings that otherwise would have been lost in translation. She is incredibly perceptive and intuitive, all while being warm and easygoing. At the same time, she can “tell it like it is” when that is helpful/necessary. We have graduated from Melinda’s therapy but are grateful for the way she helped us. And we’re encouraged that there are therapists and human beings like her in the world.

On the wall in Melinda’s office is a framed picture that says: “Sanctuary - your safe and peaceful haven; a comforting place of refuge and rest in a noisy, chaotic world.” That is an excellent description of my experience of Melinda and the space she provides for you. Melinda meets you with authenticity, empathy, and courage, coming alongside you as you process even your most difficult experiences and emotions. There is a strength, safety and warmth to the way Melinda engages you. With Melinda I feel safe to say the difficult things, cry, laugh, explore, and just be. I have benefited both from Melinda’s brainspotting services and her Enneagram expertise and knowledge, in addition to the general healing quality of time spent in her presence and in every space she creates. I highly recommend Melinda’s services at Inviterra Counseling.

Her approach is humble and often tinged with unexpected humor and connection, but conversation with her never feels unprofessional or unfocused. She creates a very safe and genuinely non-judgmental environment (strangely rare in the field) that allows for deep unburdening, meaningful processing, and practical, realistic ways of moving forward.

Melinda holds the hearts of her clients with such tenderness and care. She creates room for emotions that are often dismissed or rejected by others to be welcomed as honored guests. Those who often feel misunderstood or get labeled as "too sensitive" or "overreacting" or "too emotional" find refuge and comfort on her couch, with blankets and cups of coffee awaiting them.
