Since January 2024, I had been searching for a job in the U.S. market, but it was incredibly challenging despite having strong experience in India. Before I started with GigaMe, I was searching for a job for about 6 months. During that time, I probably did around 12 interviews and made it to the final round in about 4 or 5 of them. However, my biggest struggle was with the technical rounds, whether it was live coding or take-home assignments.

The live coding and take-home tests were definitely the hardest parts for me. In those interviews, I had a lot of behavioral questions, which I handled well. But the technical rounds were the real challenge, especially the take-home tests and system design rounds.

With GigaMe, the difference was significant. For example, in my recent startup interviews, I had a mix of behavioral and technical rounds. One technical round required a take-home assignment where I had to add a feature to their product using Next.js and Tailwind. Another round involved a whiteboarding session for system design, where I analyzed one of their existing problems.

The mentor sessions at GigaMe, particularly the mock sessions with Deepak focusing on JavaScript fundamentals, were incredibly helpful. Before GigaMe, I was missing a lot in my skill set, especially in object-oriented programming, inheritance, algorithms, and data structures. Running mock sessions with Richa, who was great at simulating real interview conditions, helped me improve significantly.

For example, I had a live coding round with Intuit for a React role, and the preparation from GigaMe really helped me excel in the first part. Although I didn’t quite get the second part right, it was a big improvement from before. Similarly, I had rounds with Walmart where the JavaScript and React fundamentals I practiced came in handy.

In terms of system design, I did work on some problems from GigaMe's platform. The behavioral questions and scenarios provided on the platform, such as handling production issues, team conflicts, and prioritizing tasks, were also very useful. Writing my answers in a Google Doc and reviewing them helped solidify my understanding.

GigaMe ensures that you become competitive in the job market. Once you're competitive, you'll get interview opportunities, and GigaMe can arrange entry calls for you.

For anyone asking about preparing with LeetCode and needing job interviews right away, I would say that it's not just about LeetCode. You need to cover everything, especially for front-end/Full stack roles. This includes the latest frameworks, JavaScript fundamentals, Next JS, Node JS and even some backend experience like working on REST APIs or answering questions about AWS and CI/CD pipelines. If you’re confident in LeetCode but find yourself struggling in mock sessions with fundamentals, you need to be patient and strengthen those areas. GigaMe's approach of comprehensive preparation really makes a difference.

It's a process, but with constant practice, mock sessions, and feedback, you'll get there. For me, it took about three months from starting with GigaMe to receiving an offer. The offer was great, from a good company in San Francisco.

Initially, when I spoke to Kumar in December 2023, I was curious about how they would integrate microservice architecture and other back-end skills into my training, given my 8 years of experience in .NET and C#. Kumar assured me that I would be upskilled in these areas, as well as in DSA and system design. I was also interested in learning ReactJs and JavaScript, as I'm always eager to acquire new skills to complement my existing knowledge. The job market is still challenging, but my journey with GigaMe provided invaluable direction in DSA, system design that has been helping me throughout.

Even though I had extensively prepared for DSA using LeetCode before joining GigaMe, the program offered excellent guidance on DSA basics, patterns, and foundational problems. Additionally, they helped me improve my skills in React and JavaScript and prepared me for system design. Over the past 3 months, I have interviewed with more than 10 companies, consistently applying through LinkedIn and Glassdoor. Kumar provided me motivation through regular interaction. I've been self-motivated to apply more, and daily preparation and acquiring additional skills like JavaScript, caching, event-driven architecture, and microservices has been crucial. The GigaMe platform has all the latest materials necessary and they’re on top of the current market to get you prepared. They provide excellent direction, and also supplement their questions with my own research. It's a combination of hard work from everyone as a team. My one-on-one personal mentor, Richa, has been great for DSA, and the system design instructor is excellent too. They also gave me the kind of mock interviews I wanted and helped me.

Also after the sessions with GigaMe, I confidently started giving coding interviews in JavaScript which I’ve never done in the past as I usually go with C#.

I have received a full-time remote job offer and will be getting another one too, but will remain motivated to continue learning from the GigaMe platform and attending interviews, supplementing my preparation methodologies.
