Visited Friday 10/28/22 at 9:05am. There is plenty of parking here, including handicap ♿️ parking. I didn't see 😕 any bathrooms when I visited. I got to see a train depart while I was here. The inside of the depot was closed when I visited. The park out front was super cool with lots of shade. I felt totally safe sauntering Solo around here.

We had a wonderful and informative tour of El Garces hotel from a local man who was an engineer for the Santa Fe railroad here in Needles. You can ask at the museum across the street to set this up. He has an enormous amount of personal knowledge about this area and you will not be disappointed. This Hotel was staffed by the Harvey Girls which is a very interesting history. He will take you inside the hotel, which is not restored, but there are pictures showing what the hotel was like. He wouldn’t take anything, but you can make a donation at the museum. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Needles.

Its the same as the Needles railroad station..
Sure its a shadow of what it once was.
but its still there. thThey saved it!
The museum across the street is great
Buy the history book from them.
You know Spike Snoopys brother was from needles.
Big history in that town.
Indian history..paddle wheelers..Route 66.
This had to be a great train station as people traveled by that means.
its to detailed to get into here but..
think of the thousands and thousand that stopped here.
Steam engines watered and took on fuel and a quick bite
drink of coffee..stretch legs or the hotel accommodations.
Take some time and stop .

You have to walk around the west end of the building to get on the platform.
If city workers are there...
.they might give you a quick thank you tour..it was appreciated.
I wish they'd let the museum people have a key and be able to give a quick tour..hint.
thank you.
Needles thanks for saving it.

One of my favorites of the famed "Harvey House" hotels that once served rail passengers. Built in 1908 and designed to look like a Greek temple. The Needles Regional Museum across the street can arrange a tour of the interior.

Known also as a Harvey House this magnificent building's exterior has been restored.

It does have a room that is rented out for meetings.

In its glory days from 1908 until the mid 30s, it has 62 hotel rooms and the Harvey Girls served travelers on train trips. There were no dining cars on trains then.

Balconies provided the perfect place for guests to enjoy drinks and cigars.
