I signed my sin up for a big brother when he was very young, but it took a long time,as not so many biggs from the tri valleya it took Abt 6yrs, he got a great big, he was a pilot for United, he really was a great role model for my son esp at the age he was Abt 10. Getting to have behavior problems, it really helped because his bb, was so calm, and had so much patience!!.. something the teachers and others were losing theirs and they really went out of their way to help him,I will be forever greatfull for his bb,and all the teachers and counselors that helped my son..... He's in his 40's now and successfully!!!? So thank you!!!

I was a big brother with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Bay Area and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had. The organization is very professional and goes the extra mile to ensure that there is a good match. It's incredibly rare to volunteer for a cause that is so real and impactful. I highly recommend Big Brothers and Big Sisters if you want to truly experience making a difference.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a fantastic organization and does so much to support both Bigs and Littles. I've been a Big Sister for over a year and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I definitely would recommend this organization to anyone looking to make an impact on a Little's life!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Give your donations and time to a different charity, because BBBSBA is an unprofessional, horrible operation.

I applied after seeing billboards around SF advertising a need for Bigs. I paid their $35 application fee, and then spent two years playing email tag with various BBBSBA employees, often going months without hearing any update. Finally I got a match, and that's where things really took a turn for the worse.

It's a long, awful story, but anyone considering being a Big should know that BBBSBA will shamelessly abandon you in the nightmarish event that a Little's parent (in this case a mentally-ill mother) decides to slander you with horrible accusations. I spent $7K in legal fees defending my name, and BBBSBA declined to investigate the truth of her claims or express any sympathy once I won the case in court.

One of the worst experiences of my life.
