I went to Acacia counseling in 2018 and 2019. I went to Acacia to do parenting classes because I was ordered to finish a parenting program through DCFS/ children's court. The owner there is Steve Henderson. This man is a liar, he will go to the lengths to make you look bad if you disagree with him or his wife who works there as a counselor. Mr Henderson kick me out of the program because I missed 3 classes. I showed him that I had an excuse from my doctor as I had hurt my back at work and couldn't sit down for more than 20 mins. Steve Henderson would not
take my doctor's note so I told I would him I will not be going to court to re-enroll in his program and I would take my class credits that I already done and go to another program. Well when I came back with the form for him or his staff to sign so I can get credits for the classes I had already done they did not want to give me the credits. They did not want to sign my form to go to another program. Well this young man came in to the office and I told him that do not come to this place to do classes because they are not fair. I told a young man in front of them that this place just wants to take your money and they don't care about you. Steve Henderson wrote a letter to my social worker add to the court stating that I went to the office being verbally abusive to him and his staff. And because of that statement I was reprimanded and made to look like I did not learn anything and that I was still the same person from before and that hindered me in trying to get custody of my daughter. Please anyone reading this do not enroll nor recommend anyone to that program. They really do not care about you. All they care about is making their money. And they will not hesitate to make you look bad in court. fudge Steve Henderson, his wife and that counseling program

Steve Henderson the owner is unfair. He told me to go to an AA class few times a week after I tried to enroll. He said I sound like a scam artist over the phone because I was asking questions about the enrollment process and payment receipts. I was scheduled for Saturday morning for enrollment and was turned away for no real solid reason . I basically begged for services and I was turned away. You can tell he gets a kick at belittling and humiliating.
His approach is the worse. Please avoid this location at all cost!

If I can NO Stars I would this place is a Scam and Crooks. For the amount there charging is ridiculous. I was incarceration since a juvenile and have already completed anger management in the institution were I served 17 years. Being released with no help or support how am I suppose to pay $50.00 for enrollment and additional $25.00 per class which is two hours everyday. Currently unemployed which under my circumstances stances isn't easy for me to find employment with my record. This Co-owner gave me the run around to go down to the courts and get a transfer. To which u currently am already enrolled in at another anger management. Which only charged me $15.00 knowing my situation. Not easy or quite that simple to pay for something which a individual can't afford and also giving me attitude and was very rude and unprofessional work ethics. Abusing there position of status and threatening me with good luck finding someone who will accept me. Your business should be shut down and be fined. Your heartless cold money hungry evil person. ?

This place is so sorry I swear. I went to sign up and the people there are rude and try to act smart. I found another place that was charging way less and was approved by courts. I decided to go with the other place and plus it's online so it works with my job and me taking care of my boys . I called them to see if I can get my money back and they kept telling me no . I wasn't going to make a big deal over 50 dollars obviously there little business needs it. I continued to tell them I was going to go somewhere else and they kept telling me I couldn't and that I had to come to there place. Long story short they called the court and got me a bench warrant just because I told them I no longer want to attend there classes. Judge didn't even care he was glad I found a more better place

I cannot say enough GOOD things about this counseling center!! I attended a 52 week court ordered program at the Glendora center and El Monte location. I just finished 3 months ago and I can honestly say it saved my life. I learned so much about myself and what will work for me. I learned tools to conduct myself with patience and self control! The instructors specifically Steve and Tony and Regina are so incredibly good at what they do and they genuinely want to see their clients to succeed. I came to them at possibly the lowest point in my life and they helped me build myself up again. I left there stronger , healthier and most importantly with a clear direction of what i need to do to have the best life possible. they also offer FREE LIFETIME after care so if you find yourself needing help you can always come back at no charge providing you don't catch a case because then You would have to pay again.. I think the world of acacia counseling and the men and women who run it!! You can't go wrong enrolling here!! Thank you to everyone there for all your help and support!! Acacia counseling has impacted my life in ways I could've never imagined. I'm forever grateful!!

For me it has been great! It has made a remarkable difference for my family. Almost finished with my class. Reading some of these bad reviews is not surprising to me because there are always a few who refuse to take any responsibility for their actions. Totally recommend this place for anyone wanting to learn how to become a better person.

don’t come here they won’t keep track of you being here and they’ll say you’ve missed when they don’t even keep track and if you say something they’ll say your trying to “manipulate the system” and steal your money. Plus they don’t even have no experience on counseling or run a class. Tony(Steve’s wife) fights with everyone and forgets everything as the class reminds her we need to check in and write our names. Super unprofessional....

Completely unprofessional with a dirty aura. Control freak! Constantly changing/adding rules by adding “signs on the wall”. Threatens to call police on clients. Don’t put yourself in this situation.
