Green mountain counseling has changed my life so much in just a year. I was referred here by my previous therapist who wasn’t able to help my specific issues, but I’m so grateful that I found this office. I have had many therapists that didn’t work for me, many bad therapists. But Green Mountain Counseling has made up for each and every one of them with exceptional care. Ryan is an extremely skilled therapist, and knows my brain better than I do. I couldn’t be more thankful to have him as a therapist.

I scheduled an appointment for our teen son. We had to wait 2 weeks for the appointment, which was fine since it wasn't an emergency. I was disappointed that there wasn't a male counselor who saw very young teens here, just females. We went ahead and scheduled a session with a female counselor.

Unfortunately, the front office booked our first appointment incorrectly, which greatly upset me due to the long wait and then the waste of our time. However, JD called us a few hours later to apologize and went above and beyond to make things right. He offered to connect us with other male counselors in different practices. He also offered to book us with one of their male counselors at Green Mountain if we were willing. We researched his referrals and checked with our insurance before making a decision. Ultimately, we decided to give this place another try. The other referrals were very far away and would conflict with our son's school schedule.

We had our first session with Hunter. Our son seems to like him. JD checked in with me after that session, which I appreciated. He's made a big effort to rectify the initial scheduling error. We'll see how it goes after a few more visits. I'll update my review then.

As a significant other of a person who is dealing with depression, this place is SOOOO disorganized. The first time he was schedule they said they over booked rescheduled him. Okay not a problem we will let that one go. On his second session he shows up and he’s not even on the schedule. He called me and said I’m done with this place they are just wasting my time. For someone like him who has depression therapy sessions are extremely important. It helps him get through his week. The lack of organization and communication is a joke at this place. I do not recommend.

I'm always hesitant to recommend counseling centers by name because I respect that each person's journey to finding the right fit can be an extremely personal one. I've been working with Dan Hutcheson for over going on almost 8 months now and I highly recommend him! He is an attentive listener, very knowledgable, perceptive, and knows how to communicate and breakdown complex concepts related to our cognitive processess in ways that reveal so many 'aha moments' and self-revelations, leaving you feeling self-assured and having a better understanding of yourself.

The clinical director, JD, is also very kind, professional and communicative!

I’ve been to several counselors over the years, but JD at Green Mountain is the first one to actually make a difference. I had been depressed for nearly two years when I first saw him. I've been working with JD for a few months now, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt he is the best therapist I've ever had. I'm not a big fan of professional counselors, but JD has been great. Does a good job of qualifying and creating strategies for handling issues. He's not one of those "cookie-cutter" therapists.
