After failing to find help through CBT, I found her style to be very integrated and trauma informed. Shira was given to our family to provide counseling through our network, MHN. My 19 y/o daughter is very high functioning special needs. When Shira heard that she was special needs, she refused to treat my daughter with counseling. She outright refused to treat telling me I needed to look for someone else. Somehow refusing to treat someone because they have special needs sounds grossly illegal but most importantly its unethical and makes me question the moral standard within person.
