This place is an absolute mess--if you want to be treated like a second-rate citizen on a conveyor belt, by all means, go to Central Coast Headway.

The people working there are generally rude, clueless, and unhelpful (there was one younger girl who was nice, but the others are incredibly unprofessional and disorganized/confused). This place doesn't have a website (it's 2025--get with the times), they provide little information when you call, their intake paperwork is wildly unprofessional, they only accept cash (?), and the office & program is run like some kind of high school detention classroom: no breaks during 2-hour classes (lol?), if you're 1 minute late for w/e reason they supposedly don't let you in, they don't offer remote (which virtually every other CA program does), and they act like they're wielding some kind of bizarre power over you (this is a private company, not a government organization). Save your self-respect and dignity and avoid this place.

I tried to get enrolled for orientation for a first-time course 3 different times, taking mornings off work and driving 30 minutes one-way, and each time I showed up there was a line out the door with a packed office/lobby. I was initially told on the phone that "orientation starts at 10:30," but it actually starts at 11:00, I'd later discover. I'm assuming the reason they tell you 10:30 is because they give themselves 30 minutes to try to process dozens of people, but they'll punish you for being "late" if you don't scramble on paperwork and jump through their hoops in time. I get the feeling this is to just smash as many unsuspecting, vulnerable people through their predatory program as possible without the chance to ask questions.

Each time I showed up, I was told to bring different paperwork from what they told me the previous times, and then I was finally told the paperwork I did bring wasn't good enough for some reason. They kept asking for more personal/private information that they DO NOT need, then they refused to accept the exact information they told me to bring and claimed they 'needed more.' When I asked them why they wanted all this extra information, they didn't have any logical or legal reasons, just that they "need it" (they don't). They literally didn't even understand what they were asking for, and when they described it, not only was what they were asking for completely wrong, it was also not something they need anyway (and if they did, they'd be given access to it by the County). Classic case of some private racket company trying to take advantage of vulnerable people who they hope don't know any better.

They're also like 35% more expensive off the bat than Kings View in Paso, which just adds insult to injury after being dragged through the mud with all this stuff. When I contacted Kings View, they were respectful and professional, they have a website, they offer remote classes, they provided information, they accept all the regular payment options, and I got enrolled with them almost immediately with no issues (which is probably why SLO County transferred their services to them and not CCH).

TLDR: Avoid Central Coast Headway at all costs. Go to Kings View.
